12 year old male 'Zane' (background) and 18 year old female 'Zola' (foreground) arrived at Jurong from Al Wabra in mid-2018. While they showed courtship behaviour, they never successfully mated. A decision was taken to relocate them to Pairi Daiza, where there are already 2.4 Shoebills, to increase the chances of breeding. They are currently undergoing quarantine and will be leaving for Belgium in a couple of weeks.
