Scrapped Plans for Habitat Africa

Revisiting this today is quite fascinating. You can absolutely see the bones of the final Forest and Savannah exhibits. Development north of the Forest here is used for leopard, patas monkey, and sitatunga, while south of the Savannah is slated for Bongo and painted dog. These areas are both slated for future development in the Gateway to Africa plans, with Bongo among the species slated to join the zoo.

Rabb intended for Habitat Africa to last seven phases. I would be so curious what the additional five phases were, although this seems to imply the third.
