Did you go on an organized wildlife tour of Costa Rica or did you do it yourself? Did you feel like travel around the country was pretty safe and easy?

It wasn't an organised wildlife tour, but we did use a travel agent and stayed in various places (this assisted with the transfers as transport is difficult otherwise). We then organised the wildlife stuff from each hotel/ lodge. Some was booked before we went, and others while there. Some in groups, but for others (mainly bird watching) we used dedicated guides. These were quite expensive (your essentially paying someone's wages for half a day) but definitely worth it as we saw so much more than we would have on our own. I adored everything about CR. Can't wait to go back. Definitely extremely safe.
