Elephant and other animals on the savannah

One of the elephants on the savannah. This exhibit originating from 1962 has worked as a model for several mixed exhibits aorund the world. It's home to african bush elephant, Rothschild's giraffe, bontebok, cape buffalo, common eland, Grant's zebra, ostrich and helmeted guineafowl

Long before in trend to mix species, the Kansas City Zoo housed african elephants together with ungulates in a large outdoor exhibit.
