Esbjerg Dyrehave is one of many Danish "dyrehaver" (deer gardens) - fenced-in nature areas where deer live in semi-liberty. It's located fairly centrally in the town of Esbjerg, Denmark's fifth-largest city, and is fairly small for a dyrehave (my guess would be around 15 hectares). Unlike most dyrehaver which only keep one or two species of deer, Esbjerg keeps three: Fallow deer, red deer, and Japanese sika deer.

Like other dyrehaver, Esbjerg Dyrehave is free to enter and open day and night, which is why I was able to visit it during the corona shutdown.

April 2020.
