Red-winged Blackbird

Apr 25, 2020
@ZooBinh Thanks! They're pretty cool birds even if they are common. I was having to be a little careful because Red-wings were nesting all through the area and they were posted up ready to attack me if I went towards the reeds! (So I wisely didn't! :p)

Yeah, I see these almost every day for most of the year and I still love them. The bright red shoulders on the jet black body is just so cool, and I love their song.

I do have to be careful in the breeding season, though. In June I can't walk anywhere without at least getting dive-bombed.

@birdsandbats Yeah they're aggressive little things! I've yet to actually get attacked, but I've seen them go after various birds of prey, herons, deer, even geese! :p
