  1. A trickle of these African Francolins (as they were called then) came into Europe in the 1980's before the bird-trade was banned by the EU. Gary Robbins first bred this spp in the UK, and we bred the closely related P. (F.) hildebrandti in 1986, again a UK first. I don't know if there is any stock left of either...?
