@birdsandbats Yes I saw online that common moorhen is now often referred to as common gallinule. However I am too old fashioned to change the way I learned something, just like I still call them spectacled bears even though most USA zoos now call them Andean bears!
Difference is that the Spectacled Bear is the same species as Andean Bear, just an alternative name, whilst Common Moorhen and Common Gallinule refer to two different species now
