This is the entrance to the night dens/keeper servicing area. On my last two visits - Father’s Day 2019 and today, Hana was confined to the dens due to being on heat. Following the death of the alpha male, Max, Hana has been displaced as alpha female by her mother. Luca is now the alpha female; but is challenged by Hana when she is on heat, causing conflict within the pride. Hana also has a fierce rivalry with her younger half sister, Aleekah.
@Tafin Yes, Benji is the alpha male, though Xavier is bigger. The hierarchy of the lionesses is: Luca > Aleekah > Hana > Bella > Ayla. Aleekah has a close bond with her mother, Luca; Hana has dropped in ranking, but still ranks above her daughter Bella; while Ayla, who is sweet natured and shy, is the lowest ranking lioness.
