It’s interesting to see how successful peer raising Sumatran tiger cubs has been at Australia Zoo and Dreamworld, with both Sali (2008) and Clarence (2013) going on to successfully breed with mother raised tigers at their respective zoos.
Handraising a tiger cub in isolation humanises it to the point of rendering it unable to interact with it’s species e.g. Kemiri (1994-2017) at Adelaide or Dumai (2013-2020) at Perth; but hand rearing them alongside their littermates or same age peers is apparently sufficient to negate these affects.
