Really? Are peafowl an invasive species in Florida? There had to be well over one hundred of these guys congregated throughout the park, most I’ve ever seen!
 
Introduced, yes. There are no studies into their environmental impact so no one really knows if they are invasive or not. They were introduced in the 1970s and today are found throughout the Florida peninsula. Many of the birds in the Miami area are hybrids with Green Peafowl, although oddly a pure Green Peafowl has never been seen in Florida.
 
@birdsandbats Many birds in the private sector are already Blue-Green Peafowl hybrids - referred to as Spalding. It may be that some number of the birds introduced to Florida are this hybrid type or descended from it.
