Giant panda (Ailuropoda melanoleuca)

Huan Huan and Yuan Zi, the two famous giant pandas arrived in Beauval in 2012.

Fantastic shot! I did not know France was getting pandas.

Is it just me, or does this look a much more ursine pose than usually seen with Giant Pandas?

I was just noticing this unusual pose as well. I hadn't heard anything about France receiving Pandas either.

I really like this photo, it shows a rather different attitude of both Pandas, as if begging for or about to receive food, rather than the usual 'eating bamboo' or 'pacing' poses.

It also shows that their Pandas are being kept together, at least when this was taken, rather than in separate enclosures as at Edinburgh. I think this is a younger pair than Edinburgh's though.
