Auckland Zoo has a flock of 22 Greater flamingo. They consist of 8.8 founders, hatched in 2001 at Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust in Slimbridge, England. 20 founders were originally imported, but four have since died. The flock also includes six chicks hatched at Auckland Zoo:
