Electric City - Cuvier’s Dwarf Caiman, Paleosuchus palpebrosus

Most of the exhibits at this aquarium/reptile zoo look real nice. Had never heard of it until your posts. The crocodilian exhibits look nice too, they just are far too small for the species they contain.

@nczoofan - "far too small" seems overly generous as a description.

What's with the name of this place anyway? Is Electric City a mall, or is there actually a city named Electric City in America?

Yeah, these were the only ones I felt were too small, especially this one. Hopefully they're planning on making them bigger.

@Chlidonias Those words were a bit generous I will say. Looking back at this picture it is by far the smaller than any crocodilian exhibit I have ever seen. Really atrocious that the animal cannot even fully emerge from the water. And considering this is one of the smallest species of crocodilian it should not be too hard to house them. Now the adult alligator in the other picture has no place in this facility.

@nczoofan It can fully climb out, that right side goes back a bit. I've unfortunately seen smaller, but yeah, these 3 are by far the worst in this place. It's otherwise a very nice facility.

@nczoofan - I think I've seen one worse in a photo on here, but I can't remember which zoo so I can't look it up to see if it was actually smaller than this one or not. It was a photo by Moebelle, but I don't think it was at Cincinnati.
