A friend of mine took this picture of a Black Rhino calf at Western Plains Zoo for me when I was a kid, because I couldn't go see it for myself. I'm pretty sure it would have been in 1996.

He was Dubbo’s first birth. In 2001, Kusamona went from Dubbo to Fossil Rim to replace his father. He sired 2 calves, both died young. Kusamona died unexpectedly from a venomous snake bite in 2014.
