Nutria/Coypu

Is this in the Camargue? Where are you getting the information that Coypus aren't found in the south of France? Coypus are common in the Camargue and have been for a long time.

@Chlidonias Wikipedia gives a range map which doesn't go anywhere near the south of France. But thanks anyway

I had a look on the Wikipedia page for Coypu. That map is credited as an "own work" of the person who added it, and it is just nonsense. Not only doesn't it include places in Europe in which Coypu are found - it also includes places Coypu aren't found! Literally every other map of Coypu distribution in Europe will give you a completely different range to that one.

This paper (from this year) has maps on Figure 1 which show distribution expansion in Europe from 1980 to 2018: The potential current distribution of the coypu (Myocastor coypus) in Europe and climate change induced shifts in the near future

I was hoping it was a beaver when I saw it but looking back at my photos it could only be a coypu.
