This aviary is just great, there is a wave machine simulating the coast. It´s also a walkthrough aviary with beach chairs where you can sit and it`s just so calming to sit there and watch the birds
After I visited a lot of European zoos last summer, I became a huge fan of wave machines. The one in this aviary is superb, along with the nearby wave machine for the California sea lions at the same zoo. Hannover is perhaps the best example of achieving some remarkable success with wave machines in their polar bear habitat.
