Red-crowned crane enclosure in winter

Is this some kind of historic building or Victorian era folly that is inside the crane enclosure ?

I thought I had read about this somewhere but I can’t find it. If my memory serves me correctly the building was built as a kind of owl castle/cloister as can be seen in other 19th century zoos but was damaged during the Second World War. I might be wrong but I think that’s the case.

@Shirokuma It is a really interesting setup and quite enigmatic too.

This was the old 'Owl-castle' which had on the front-side a row of aviaries for - yes you guessed it - owls .
