Again, great photograph! This is not a species you typically come across. How common are they in South American zoos? Does Belo Horizonte Zoo breed them? and how did they source their founder stock?
 
I am not familiar with south american zoos but across my few visits, I've never heard or seen about breeding. Still they have several animals, probably coming from rescue centers that could breed.
 
@Therabu ah ok thank you. I would definitely be interested in seeing a captive breeding program for them. How could they be as ambassador animals for educational programs?
 
You mean the kind of encounters at a specific time where people can touch/feed or see the animal performing natural behaviors?
This kind of presentation is not very widespread, at least in continental Europe and South America. Of course they could. But I don't know if they should. On top of that I fond it is quite contradictory with breeding in my opinion.
