The "Dry Hamptay" area is situated just outside of the village center of Han-sur-Lesse, the village (part of the city of Rochefort) where the Domain of the Caves of Han is located.

Normally the visit to the Domain of the Caves of Han begins in the Domain's main building right in the village center. This building has ticket offices and a shop, and nearby are the areas where the train to the caves and the safari cars to the wildlife park pick up and drop visitors.

That is, under normal circumstances. Now with Covid-19, to have more space to guide and separate visitor flows in order to ensure social distancing and maintain the safety guidelines for tourist attraction, the entrance areas and the starting areas for the different visits (caves, wildlife park walking trail and wildlife park by safari car) have been moved to the Dry Hamptay area. This is an meadow area with a playground and some domestic animal paddocks.

The farm building seen here houses the PrehistoHan museum space and a cafeteria.
