Ring-tailed mongoose (Galidia elegans)

Very good photo; I got a so-so photo of one when I visited, it is in the gallery, it is hard to photograph them as their movements are so rapid and they have logs and holes to disappear into.

The diminutive size of the exhibit should make it easier though.

Thanks Baldur!, and nicholas you might think that, but like many small carnivores the mongeese are either sleeping or constantly moving. You just pray they stop for a couple seconds here and there so you might get some decent shots...

What a fantastic photo!! I always have the "constantly moving" issue with them, unfortunately.

@TinoPup Thanks so much! I remember getting a few moments of rest out of these critters. I'm also lucky that this is my home zoo so I've had many opportunities.
