@Julio C Castro Is the Los Angeles Zoo going to get new lions after the previous pair passed away due to old age next year or later this year?

@Matthew Guimac they won’t be getting any new lions in the near future, I believe they posted about on Facebook or Instagram.

@Julio C Castro So, the Los Angeles Zoo is phasing out the lions temporarily or permanently?

@Matthew Guimac it’s most likely temporary, they are about to finalize their vision plan and it includes improvements to the Africa section. I think it’s the best choice, yes lions will be missed but I’d rather see them in a fantastic home In the future which SDZ Safari Park does really well.

@Julio C Castro If the Los Angeles Zoo where to get new lions, would they be another pair or brother lions?

@Matthew Guimac I don’t think anyone would know that since it would be close to a decade until we may have lions due to the new Vision Plan.
