Looks like a Geophagus species, possibly G. braziliensis.

It makes a lot of sense, thank you!

I think it's a related species Gymnogeophagus balzanii, the head shape and deep body are quite characteristic.

@gentle lemur I agree after looking it up; I had not heard of that species before.

Its a Guianacara sp.

Big males like this one tend to fade a bit.
