An exhibit part of "Por el camino de los Andes" (Through the Andean trail) which currently houses jaguars, Andean condors, Cauca guans, Andean cock-of-the-rock and spectacled bears. The second phase of the exhibit was due to open this June but was delayed due to Covid-19 related issues.
Its quite an impressive place. The zoo developed a long term master plan back in 2008 in which future exhibits were planned to highlight both local and foreign species. With such plan the zoo is quite structured in dividing itself into areas: Jaziquima (Village of primates), the Andean trail, Africa, Australia and the future will bring a second phase for the Andean trail, an entirely refurbished Asia and a new African complex. The second part of "Por el camino de los Andes" (Through the Andean trail) will be housing White tailed deer, collared peccary, pumas, coatis, pacaranas and native bird species.

Having said this, there's a few exhibits that could do with some changes. The zoo was built in the 70's and some exhibits do reflect an old style which may now be out of date. The reptile house, marmoset and parrot exhibits for example.
