Excellent photos as always Kevin, I always love reading your interesting tidbits of information that come along with the photos. Pairi Daiza is basically what happens when a zoo nerd strikes it rich im pretty sure. Sure some of the displays are a bit tacky, but in terms of the size and scope of the projects, as well as the vast array of species they display, they take on its virtually unrivaled.
@DelacoursLangur Thank you very much for your nice comment, I will try to keep it up. You are not wrong in your assessment of Pairi Daiza. I too do not really enjoy some of their tacky displays and the over the top stuff that sometimes overpowers or comes at the cost of animals and exhibits but you cannot deny that in terms of species displayed and of the type of projects they do they are hard to beat. And that is indeed a big draw-in for zoo nerds. Especially now that I am for the time being staying within Belgium due to Covid-19 I just couldn't pass up an opportunity to go to Pairi Daiza.
@DelacoursLangur Yes, there most definitely are. And while I personally miss visiting Dutch zoos a little, I thoroughly enjoyed my 2020 zoo season with Planckendael, Pairi Daiza and Caves of Han.
