Fantastic series of photos! Nice to see this species is now part of a public collection. Hopefully they stick around until my next opportunity to Europe arises.

Although couldn’t it be something to do with the lighting or editing done afterwards? You can tell that a lot of the photos online of P.rufus have been edited to make the colours deeper and brighter, so it could just be a result of that as well?
@TeaLovingDave I'm guessing that the "private collection" then was that guy who had the RSCC? The pictured bat still doesn't look like photos I have seen of wild bats.
