There are two zoos with Striped Weasel and two zoos with Zorilla in Europe. If this is the only animal in USA, you've been very lucky to catch it, though
@twilighter I knew about the zorilla, it was my reason for stopping here, but I didn't know about the cusimanse next to her - the only ones on display in the US (they're occasionally advertised for the pet trade). A great member here thinks this one might be related to the two in Europe, because of the facial markings.
@TinoPup Very interesting, didn't know USA has only one place with Cusimanse on-show. I have seen Common cusimanses in Plzen and Magdeburg, but they can be seen in few more places in Europe. Which animals, they are supposed to be related to?
@twilighter I didn't know there were any, so it was a nice surprise! It's a fairly new species for this place so not mentioned anywhere, and they're signed as dwarf mongoose (a supposed nickname for the species). The US doesn't seem to like mongooses Other than meerkats, there's 10-15 with dwarf mongoose, 6 with banded. One with Javan. That's it. There's one other place, in upstate New York, that I think might have cusimanse instead of mongoose.
The zorilla, might be related to the ones in Europe, instead of from a separate population.
