I can tell that even in 2020 that elephant shrews still prosper in Philadelphia or am I mistaken?.

@Austin the Sengi Yeah, although I'm not sure that they even have more than one anymore. This is the only one that I saw, though there could have been one in the hide box.

@Fignewton Not sure. I remember they have had babies in the past, but I don't think they're breeding anymore.

As charming as it is not really a "rare" species though is it ?

Wouldn't it have been better if they had kept the golden rumped sengi instead ?

@Onychorhynchus coronatus In the US there are only around three or so facilities with them, so you could consider them rare, but many of the other animals in the building aren't rare either.

@red river hog I wonder whether an ex-situ programe has been considered for the golden rumped sengi ?
