Bornean Barking Deer (M. m. pleicharicus)- Stag

The barking deer in the WRS collection were mentioned by @Zooish to be of the Bornean subspecies. Most likely what my acquaintance encountered during a survey of the central catchment back in the 90s, but for some reason claimed it was Muntiacus atherodes.

A pair of does are at the Singapore Zoo's proboscis monkey dome.

@Zooish yes, that was the only post I could find regarding it, and it is from over a decade ago and far from stating that the WRS animals are the Bornean subspecies as @Casuarius_casuarius says, so I thought there might be some other post I couldn't see.

@Casuarius_casuarius - and what is his source for that? I see he has a photo labelled as that from 2006, but that is from the same time as Zooish's photo (from 2007). Are you saying that he is "confirming" that any current animals are the same stock, or is this just guessing?
