My visit to Planckendael on May 23rd was my very first zoo visit post-lockdown and my first zoo visit in the era of Covid-19. Planckendael first reopened its gates 5 days earlier, on May 18th.
It certainly was quite different and odd to visit a zoo under these circumstances, but I was glad to be able to do so again.
By now, several zoo visits later, I have become quite used to the Covid-19 stuff at the zoo. But I still hope we will eventually be able to return to a more normal way of visiting zoos again, without face masks, hand sanitizer and social distancing.
That said, the current limited visitor numbers are not always a bad thing.
