Seen from inside the bird house. The outdoor aviary at this location was removed last year. The curassow used to be with the African grey parrots. Most military macaws are in the newly reconstructed aviaries, but two still live in here. I hope this aviary will eventually be renovated.
@Onychorhynchus coronatus I don't think it is a bad aviary per se, I just think it looks a bit bland and outdated and could do with some modernization and renovation. I also find it a bit regrettable they removed the outdoor aviary for a sitting area, as outdoor access is a plus for parrots.

So yes, while I don't think it is an unacceptably bad aviary, I think it could be improved upon, whether for the current inhabitants or for different species.

@Onychorhynchus coronatus I am not familiar with the quality of zoos in Brazil and South American and with how birds are generally housed there.

I of course look at things through the eyes of what I am used to seeing here in Northwestern Europe, and I have seen large parrot housings that I like more and think are better than this one.

Comparing standards and judging differences between zoos in different countries and on different continents of course isn't always easy.
