My first wild Onychophora (though I have kept a New Zealand species in the past). Love these guys, with all their little legs and their silk-shooting insectivory.

@Onychorhynchus coronatus Yep! One of the New Zealand species was available quite readily in the UK trade for a time some years ago (as were Wellington Tree Wetas, which I also kept - probably one prolific exporter). They had to be kept cool and damp, and fed very small insect prey (pinhead crickets were the staple) but they were surprisingly lively pet inverts once you had the conditions right. Not seen them for years now, though.
@Onychorhynchus coronatus Oh, now you're asking - this was 15 years ago! But it was months rather than years with mine. It was always hard to know how old the individuals were when you got them (though the place I got them from was sourcing them as captive bred). They are great things, though, and I was very excited to find this wild one!
@Maguari I'm sure they were brilliant pets, I am fascinated by these things after reading about them in the Richard Fortey's book "Suvivors" and seeing them in the accompanying documentary.
