@Onychorhynchus coronatus Quite a curious behaviour. Reptiles in general tend to be in the sun to get some heat. Do you think he might be stressed somehow?
@David Matos Mendes No, don't worry, I don't think he is stressed out, just normal crocodilian behaviour.
Its a bit like the black caiman at Sorocaba "Wally". He also often does the same thing with hiding under vegetation from trees that overhang the water when he isn't basking in the sun on the land.
@Onychorhynchus coronatus Ah yes, I imagined. This is quite a nice exhibit for an animal to feel stressed, actually. Also, I might have forgotten that reptiles need to cool down after they get heat in the sun
