A new addition that was added in Dunia Air Tawar during Ramadan 2019. The aquarium used to had a Common Electric Eel (Electrophorus electricus) back in 2005-2015, until it died of old age. During the eel's absence, the tank used to house Giant Barbs. The manager of the aquarium, Mr. Chatim said that it was pretty hard to find a replacement electric eel since there used to be a ban on foreign predator fishes. He worked with a friend who helped him bringing back the electric eel by importing it from Suriname.
@Fargusno Earlier this years, suddenly a lot of predator fish enthusiast sell this species. Most of the time, people sell younger electric eels. I've never seen some Indonesian predator fish enthusiast keep a adult electric eel.
