Breathtaking Brown Bear exhibit

@SivatheriumGuy I don't know about the specific history of these bears at this particular Spanish zoo but why would this zoo choose to mix different subspecies of the Eurasian brown bear and the Grizzly bear with individuals of a native / endemic and endangered population ?

It begs the question, what would be the purpose of that kind of ex-situ management ?

@Onychorhynchus coronatus To be fair, stuff like this is expected from Cabarceno. There was a time when they mixed European and American bison in the same field, they still keep a lot of tigers in the same exhibit (with a lot of conflict between each other), and the keeping animals for conservation efforts is a relatively "new" concept for the park. I adore the place, but it needs a change of directions asap.
