I love seeing these guys wild in the summer, they just reach my area. Of course, they're super shy and hard to get a nice upclose photo of!
 
I'm on the extreme north end of this species' range, there's only a few breeding sites in Wisconsin. Blue Grosbeak is somewhat of a nemesis species for me, I've visited the site closest to me to look for them many times and fail to see them every time. :(
 
@birdsandbats They're tricky, it took me several tries before I could start finding them regularly. They often don't look blue if they're higher up in a tree for whatever odd reason, and they tend to jump and run pretty easy. Once you get a reasonable idea of what you're looking for they start turning up easier.
