The new Madagascar exhibit is a 1.5 million dollar (USD) project, that is the first major step in the zoo's 13 million dollar master plan. It's also the largest capital improvement in the zoo's 115 year history.
This is the male Black-and-white Ruffed Lemur from the Duke Lemur Center. He's never lived with birds, so he kept barking at them and chased them around the exhibit once.
@Great Argus Me neither now that I think about it. All the other lemurs were okay with the birds being there and were leaving them alone. It was just this one male.
