Musk oxen should not be kept in zoos with a hot summer, its the wrong climate for them. A lot of them died on several deseases and the mortality of the yongsters is very high, much higher than in northern zoos.
We sometimes have hot summers in Copenhagen but ours have always been doing fine. They are breeding regularly and some of them have even been imported from Greenland (orphans and wildcaughts).
