@red river hog Its not actually that huge, it just has some good exhibits. Free-ranging tamarins? Maybe in the past, not now. Taveta golden weavers though.
Heres the Bad Tarantula exhibit. Its the white bucket on the side.
See, told ya I've seen worse.
Credit to Dhole dude.
@Jarne I agree that standard US vivaria are not very good. When I saw this on my visit, I was very surprised that they were keeping a tarantula in that. Someone could reach out and pick it up, injuring the spider. Also, it looks like more of a hiding place that should be in a tarantula enclosure, rather than an enclosure itself.
@CheeseChameleon2007 Is that box for dart frogs? Cause honestly both the spider and dart frog exhibit don't look that good (the spider obviously way worse).
@CheeseChameleon2007 I was talking about the one at the aquarium when I said tamarins. The aquarium has a big pyramid on the top that has mostly free ranging species. This allows said species multitudes of space, while there's this spider in a little log.
@red river hog They already have a Snow-laden concrete walled pit for lions that roar all of the time when I see them. So I wouldn't be surprised. Their master plan is to tear down that old cat building (not sure about the rainforest) and redo stuff, but at this state its unimpressive. At least it has snow leopards and Blue-eyed black lemurs, 2 species that I adore.
