Mencari is often housed in this exhibit. All three tigresses are housed in the night dens on the far side while the exhibits are cleaned; then Mencari is taking through the main exhibit and into the smaller exhibit. Sali and Kirana (mother and daughter) are then let out together into the main exhibit.
The zoo are planning to build a third Sumatran tiger exhibit in the next five years (on the current site of the larger African wild dog exhibit).
@Escher Nicholls Actually Mencari happily shared with an unrelated male named Oz, until his death this year. It's great when they can live together as all the tigers get more outside time. When they had just the main tiger exhibit, Mencari and her brother used to rotate use of the outside exhibit; with the other confined to the cages.
