Spotted Rail- Pardirallus maculatus

Taken in Texas. Not sure which subspecies this would be.
@UngulateNerd92 McMullen County, Texas. Not one of the counties I would expect such a bird to be found at all, I would have predicted it would be much more coastal, especially given the habitat this bird was hanging out in (marshy stuff reminiscent of the coast.)
 
@Great Argus There was also one in 2015 in Texas that a dog attacked and a rehabber took in. They brought it back to health and released it in I believe Brazoria County but kept it a secret for a while. I believe there are only two other records in the US, both in the 70s. One in Texas (1977) that was taken into captivity and died, and one in Pennsylvania (1976) that was found dead.
