April 2014
At least it matches the zoo entrance ;)

A little bit of context: This enclosure is a city monument, designed in 1940s by Raul Lino to house monkeys. Now it has Japanese macaques but in the past, other species were here like hamadryas baboons. It does not intend to represent the natural habitat of the animals, obviously. It was made to resemble a typical Portuguese village where the monkeys are its inhabitants. As a classified monument, it cannot suffer deep changes although I don't know why the zoo still houses animals in this enclosure. Nevertheless, it is still quite an attraction because everyone from every generation remembers it and every time it visits the zoo wants to see it.
