The former Snapping Turtle exhibit at the Mississippi River zone has been replaced by an African-themed exhibit for Elephantnose Fish (Gnathonemus petersii), Eastern Bottlenose Mormyrid (Mormyrus longirostris), Congo Tetra (Phenacogrammus interruptus), Tailspot Ctenopoma (Ctenopoma kingsleyae), Squeaker Catfish (Synodontis ocellifer) and Fahaka Puffer (Tetraodon lineatus).
I guess the Mississippi River zone will eventually be dropped and be replaced by an African theme. As it is the only Mississippi species left in the zone are the Alligator Gar and Red-eared Sliders. The Atlantic Tarpon are also native to the West African coast and they now share their tank with other African species - Nile Perch and Giraffe Catfish.
The Alligator Snapping Turtles have been relocated to the Pygmy Hippo gallery at the Singapore Zoo.
