What is the story here? Did the captive population stop breeding?

@DavidBrown Sorry, missed this somehow. Yeah, they basically stopped breeding - at least, stopped breeding quickly enough to maintain their numbers. There's some good info here: Captain Cook's bean snail Partula faba (islandbiodiversity.com)
