This particular enclosure is functional in appearance, and it could do with a little more furnishing, but patas monkeys do inhabit open country and scrubland, so the sparseness of this area is not so terrible.
I am aware that patas monkeys live in scrubland but they will still stay near trees to provide cover and security for them. This exhibit is extremely spartan with almost nothing for the monkeys in it to use. I am not saying that they should make a rainforest exhibit out of this but they could easily utilize the space a lot better.
