Most of the hotwire has been removed and yet the plants continue to grow. I guess the point was allow their establishment, because now we have a forest growing. In person it looks more like a tiger exhibit than a polar bear exhibit.
@Arizona Docent As far as I know, it originally was meant to reflect an Alaskan meadow, with an underlying theme of where polar bears could end up living in the midst of grave realities such as climate change.
