Giraffes (circa 2005) - Belo Horizonte zoo

"Rafiki" and "Zola" (circa 2005)
@Enzo
I miss them too. I have seen some in a near past (in SP and BSB), but I'd like to see them more often (specially in BH, where there is already a proper exhibit, and handling skills of the crew have shown to reach breeding in the past). Also anxious for their arrival in Rio. They will surely be an awesome adition...

According to one of the zookeepers whom I talked to in the African Savanna area (they changed the section's name), the giraffes, impalas and zebras are being negotiated with the South African government, but it might take months for them to come because it's a very bureaucratic proccess.

@Enzo
Great they changed. I realized they had stop treating the area as "aventura selvagem" some time ago, and it's more acurate to call it african savanna indeed.
It's a shame that it will take a little long for these animals to arrive, but I already imagined it would take some time...
