@nczoofan I have noticed before that even zoos with large African elephant exhibits often don't offer them that much shade. That said, the elephants do have a little bit of shade close to the building housing the savanna animal stables, including the elephant stables.
@DelacoursLangur Not in Germany but in Belgium. Of the three zoos in Belgium with African elephants (Olmen, Monde Sauvage and Pairi Daiza) Pairi Daiza is unfortunately the only one with an exhibit that can truly be called decent.
