Right Sea Lion Pool

Every time I see this exhibit I am blown away by when I remember it used to hold an Orca

I believe 'Cuddles' the orca, who died in February 1974, was in the left-hand pool (as you face the castle) not the right-hand one (which contained dolphins). The sides of the pool were also built up considerably so that the pool could hold around 150,000 gallons of water, but it was still atrociously small.

I agree though that it's still completely mind-blowing to think that any sort of cetacean was once in that space let alone an orca!
