Part of the Southern white rhinoceros paddock with future connection to the giraffe/zebra area, 2020-09-20

There is a long-term project to make the two savanna exhibits (giraffe/zebra paddock and rhinoceros paddock) into one large, mixed savanna exhibit as well as to add more species such as ostrich, antelopes and pigs, which will be housed either in the renovated pig house or in the old bovine house. The black gates on the left side are where the connection between the two areas, behind the pig house, will be.

The plans for the savanna area have however already been changed several times (and were changed even during the final construction phase), so until there is official confirmation from the zoo it will remain to be seen what will be added to this area.
